Vegan restaurants

Vegan restaurants are very much popular in India. Vegan restaurants claim that they do not use any animal product other than milk, in their dishes. It is said that Vegan diet is the best throughout someone’s entire life. But a poor diet can lead to deficiency of vitamin B12, iron, vitamin D, calcium, iodine, and omega-3 fatty acids.

In India, vegan restaurants are very popular as two major religions; Jainism and Buddhism discard the use of any animal product. Also, some of the sections of Hindus are strict vegans.

It is said that vegan diet helps in balancing the whole ecosystem, as animals are not killed. This is also a reason for which, many people in the US and Europe in turning out to become vegans.

If you think that a vegan restaurant cannot give you the taste of a non vegan restaurant, then just try a restaurant for once. I know that you will not get the taste of meat, but you surely will like whatever you are eating. Especially if it is an Indian dish, you will surely forget whatever you wanted to eat in a non vegan restaurant.

The menu is not only long, it is close to what we generally call never ending. You have a wide variety to choose from. This is because there are many techniques of cooking in India and the number of vegan items is more.

Sushi bars

Sushi bars are obviously a new concept in India. It is good to have Japanese food, but they are a little particular about their dos and don’t s inside a sushi bar. So it is better to learn some of their manners before you get into a bar.

Firstly, the white towel that your waiter or waitress gives you is only for cleaning your face and not for blowing your nose. If you need a napkin, then feel free to ask for it. You can ask your waitress for whatever you need. But be sure it is not sushi or sashimi. These two are to be ordered to the chef only.

It is normal that you will have a drink while eating sushi, so you can order a beer or sake. If you want, you can ask your chef to join you for a drink. For sushi, you can use your hands if you are not comfortable with chopsticks. But for eating sashimi, it is expected that you will use your chopsticks.

Now here are some tips while using chopsticks. Don’t use the sticks to pull your plate. They are only for eating. Don’t stick them inside your food while not eating. It is considered as bad manners. Keep them on one side. If you have to pass something, then use the other side of your chopsticks to do so.

When you visit a sushi bar, it will be a nice experience for you, but keep these in mind or they may think that you don’t know etiquette.

From French word “desservir” which means “to clear the table” and “to serve” the word “Dessert” arise. We all know that dessert which usually consists of sweet food is a course which comes after the meal. But what is a dessert restaurant?
